
EDUCATOR
A passionate educator with extensive experience teaching applied voice, opera, vocal pedagogy, and class voice at the collegiate level, Dr Landis has served on the faculties of Mississippi State University and Sheridan College, instructing students across all levels in classical technique, performance, and vocal science. His pedagogy combines traditional methods with current voice technology, and he has designed and taught both undergraduate and graduate pedagogy curricula.

As an educator and conference presenter he has given lectures on "Vocal Health and Hygiene", "Vocal Acoustics within the Teaching Studio", "Developing Vocal Technique in the Choral Classroom.", and “Reimagining Opera Outreach.” A believer in opera outreach and education, he has had the joy of performing for audiences ranging from preschool through high school students, to residents in nursing homes, and with Opera South Dakota’s “Fairytale Opera in the Park.” He has directed opera scenes, served as an assistant director and stage manager for professional and academic productions, and mentored aspiring performers through workshops and conferences.

Dr. Landis earned his D.M.A. from The University of Alabama, his M.M. from the University of South Dakota, and his B.A. from UCSI University in Malaysia. In addition to his academic and performance work, he brings a background in arts administration and nonprofit leadership.
